Scribe has pre-empted world rights in A Fair Trial, an account of the trials of Cardinal George Pell, by The Guardian’s award-winning Melbourne bureau chief, Melissa Davey.
Ms Davey is in the unique position of being the only journalist to have covered Cardinal Pell’s appearances at the child abuse royal commission, his committal-hearing mistrial, and his retrial. She will also attend his appeal in June.
Scribe’s publisher, Henry Rosenbloom, describes the book as, ‘A definitive forensic examination of the trial that echoed around the world, and of the fallout following publication of the verdict.’

Scribe acquired the rights from Benython Oldfield at the Zeitgeist Agency, and will publish the title in ANZ and the UK in the first half of 2020.
